Patients and families celebrate Halloween early at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University

Pediatric patients and families at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU will be treated to a special Halloween party from Spirit of Children, a program that, to date, has raised more than $315,400 for the Child Life Program at CHoR and hosts the hospital’s largest party of the year.
“The goal of child life is to help children and families cope with the hospital environment,” said Heather Rossi, senior child life specialist at CHoR. “We come to work every day to help make the hospital less scary and more fun for kids. Whether we are prepping a child for what to expect after surgery or throwing a Halloween party, we couldn’t do what we do without the financial and in-kind support we receive from Spirit of Children.”
