Mark P. Vergnano, executive vice president of DuPont, visits Virginia Commonwealth University this week as the 2014 VCU Business and Engineering Executive-in-Residence.

Vergnano will present a public talk, "From Tech to Exec: Career Advice for the Next Generation," on Thursday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m. in the Mary Morton Parsons Auditorium of Snead Hall, 301 W. Main St. The presentation will be followed by a conversation and a brief question-and-answer session.

While visiting the school during the two-day program, Vergnano, who received his master's degree in business administration from VCU, will immerse himself in the two schools by attending classes, conversing with faculty and meeting with senior leadership.

At DuPont, Vergnano is responsible for businesses in the Performance Chemicals segment:  DuPont Chemicals & Fluoroproducts and Titanium Technologies. In January, DuPont announced that Vergnano will become CEO of the new Performance Chemicals company after separation, which is expected to occur mid-2015.
