Robert W. Woltz, Jr., president of Verizon Virginia, will speak about successful marketing practices in a climate of changing regulation on Nov. 4 at Virginia Commonwealth University as part of the ongoing Verizon/VCU Department of Marketing Speaker Series.
Woltz’s discussion, “Driving Successful Marketing Campaigns in Changing Times: Confronting Regulation, Deregulation and Public Policies,” will start at 2:30 p.m. in Room B1115 of Snead Hall, 301 W. Main St. A welcoming reception will precede the event at 2 p.m. in the Snead Hall Atrium. The lecture is the second in the Verizon/VCU Department of Marketing Speaker Series and is hosted by Verizon Communications in collaboration with the VCU School of Business.
Woltz will examine how Verizon and others are adapting to modern regulation in ways that increase innovation and bring new products to market faster. He will discuss how today’s regulation in Virginia affects Verizon’s policies and marketing practices now and in the future. Woltz also will explain Verizon’s position on Net Neutrality. Verizon is an industry leader in balancing regulation, legislation and competition to maximize consumer choice and flexibility and minimize costs.
“We look forward to hearing Mr. Woltz discuss how regulation in the communication and entertainment industries is affecting consumers’ choices and competitors’ marketing practices in this new environment,” said Michael Little, Ph.D., professor of marketing and interim chair of the Department of Marketing.
