U.S. News & World Report on Tuesday ranked the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Education as No. 3 on its list of best online graduate education programs.

The school tied for third with Utah State University in the education category of the 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs.

“Our ranking in U.S. News & World Report demonstrates not only the exceptional quality of our faculty, staff and students, it also confirms the strength of support that we provide to distance learners,” said Andrew Daire, Ph.D., dean of the School of Education.

The VCU School of Education was one of two Virginia schools of education ranked among the top 10, along with the No. 9-ranked Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.

“These rankings are important because they indicate the extent to which schools of education are serious about the high quality of their graduate level programs, and the importance they place on diverse course offerings that accommodate students’ ever-changing needs,” Daire said.

In addition, the VCU College of Engineering’s online mechanical and nuclear engineering program broke into the top 50 of the latest rankings in its category. The program was ranked No. 48.
