Starting Friday, March 22, at 7 p.m. through Monday, March 25, at 6 a.m., street closures will be in effect on Virginia Commonwealth University’s MCV Campus for multiple construction projects. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel as heavy traffic is possible.

The complete list of street closures is below:

  •  North 11th Street will be closed between East Clay and East Leigh streets.
  •  One eastbound lane on East Leigh Street, between 10th and 11th streets, will be open for travel; the VCU Police Department will have officers controlling traffic. Orange detour signs marking temporary routes for vehicular traffic will be posted in this area.
  •  East Clay Street, between 10th and 11th streets, will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This closure has been in effect and will continue for approximately one month.
  •  The entrance to the MCV Visitor Parking Deck, located at 550 N. 12th St., will be closed for repairs on Saturday, March 23, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry into the deck will be detoured to the Clay Street exit (near Critical Care Hospital).

VCU Police will be working to mitigate traffic congestion. Officers will assist with traffic control at the intersections of East Leigh Street and North 10th and 11th streets on Friday, March 22, between 6 and 10 p.m. and all day Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24.

This project is expected to end Monday, March 25. However, all schedules listed are subject to change.
