VCU to celebrate December commencement on Saturday

Virginia Commonwealth University will celebrate December commencement on Saturday.

The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. The university also will host an assortment of in-person graduation ceremonies at the department, school and college levels. VCU has approximately 2,500 August and December graduates, representing 31 states and 31 countries. The total includes 560 first-generation graduates.

Sethuraman Panchanathan, Ph.D., who has been director of the National Science Foundation since 2020, will deliver the commencement keynote address.

The universitywide commencement broadcast will stream at vcu.edu. For more details about commencement, visit commencement.vcu.edu. More information about unit-level events can be found at commencement.vcu.edu/departmental-ceremony/. Doors will open for guests for the universitywide ceremony at 9 a.m. No tickets are required.

For the media: Media credentials are required for access to the floor of the Siegel Center. Credentials can be obtained during business hours starting Thursday at the office of VCU Public Relations on the sixth floor of 912 W. Grace St., or may be picked up Saturday at the Siegel Center’s west entrance between 9 and 10 a.m. Reserved parking for media is available in the Bowe Street Parking Deck, 609 Bowe St.
