Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao, Ph.D., will discuss how VCU serves the public good through the undergraduate experience, research and its health care mission during his fifth State of the University Address.

Reporters are invited to cover the address on Thursday, Jan. 25, beginning at 11 a.m. in Lecture Hall 303 at James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave.

The address will also focus on VCU’s success in graduating underrepresented minority students. Sixty percent of VCU’s academic programs rank among the top 100 nationally for graduating underrepresented minorities — more than 135 different programs in all. And Black and Hispanic students graduate at higher rates than the university average.

The address will be streamed on VCU’s homepage, www.vcu.edu , and VCU's Facebook page, go.vcu.edu/vcufacebook. Sign language interpreters will be available for the deaf and hard of hearing.
