Dear VCU community,

As you likely know, recent developments in the region have impacted our colleagues and students at VCUarts Qatar.

The safety and well-being of every member of the VCU community is our utmost priority.

Dean Amir Berbić and the VCUarts Qatar leadership team have been in daily communication with students, faculty, and staff, and are coordinating closely with VCU’s long-standing partner Qatar Foundation as well as other Education City partner universities.

As was shared in his recent message, after careful consideration, students, faculty and staff have been given the opportunity to choose to temporarily work from outside of Qatar, if it is safe to do so. This decision has been made in the interest of flexibility and personal safety.

We sincerely thank Dean Berbić and his team for their leadership and strength in these difficult times.

As this situation continues to evolve, VCU leaders will remain in frequent and direct contact with VCUQ leadership and regional partners to support community members and provide resources.

The VCU community supports our friends and colleagues in Qatar during this time. The VCUarts Qatar campus is a vibrant and resilient place and we hope for stability as soon as possible.

If you are in need of support, please know that our campus resources are available to you:

Thank you,
